Geocache Description:


Cache is NOT at the posted coordinates. It can and will GET VERY BUSY at times, so be VERY STLEATHY.

The Town of Goderich came into being as an indirect result of the war of 1812-14. The town was founded by John Galt and William "Tiger" Dunlop of the Canada Company in 1827. First laid out in 1828, the town is named after Frederick John Robinson, 1st Viscount Goderich, who was prime minister of the United Kingdom at the time. It was incorporated as a town in 1850. The Town plan was designed by John Galt. The "Square", that unique feature of Goderich since the Town Plot was first laid out by the Canada Company. The square is more a octagonal or circle (when driving around it) around the courthouse in the middle, which had huge trees and a bandshell. Goderich was hit by a deadly F3 tornado on Aug. 21, 2011. It devastated buildings, trees and vehicles. Now, trees have been replanted, new bandshell and cenotaph among other things. Many stores have been re-built since then and some of the older buildings have remained like that of the old hotel/pub and movie theatre. Streets are like that of spokes on a wagon wheel go off all the way around, leading to the beach and other parts of town.

This is a bonus cache for completing the Adventure Lab HAUNTING SITE IN THE SQUARE


In order to obtain the actual coordinates, you will need to complete the adventure lab. The coordinates and hint will be revealed in the journal entries along the way.
