The Cache:
This cache was inspired by the GeoCat art further up the trail. In order to keep with the letterbox hybrid theme, there is a stamper and stamp pad located in the cache, however, the container that they are in is NOT the log! In order to sign the log and receive credit for the cache you have to do a little...erm...digging... A tool has been provided to assist you with finding the log. The stamp and pad are included for those who like to collect letterbox stamps. There is not enough room on the actual log for stamps unfortunately; please just sign/initial the log.
The Location:
I thought this was a neat location and the path to the cache will take you by some interesting features. However, it can get very muddy when it is wet out. I highly recommend wearing boots and warm socks depending on the season.
To get to the cache, head to the posted coordinates.
If you are heading north towards the geoart, there will be a small path heading down the hill on your right. (Look for the blue gas line stake.)
Follow the path down the hill to the bottom. There will be an odd rectangular structure to your left and the trail will split in two in front of you.
Take the left fork of the trail past another square structure on your left. Keep walking until the trail curves to the right (there will be a small group of pine trees in front of you.)
Look to your left and you will see a small, lesser used trail. About 30 feet ahead along this trail, you should see some fallen birch trees across the path.
The cache is located at the base of these trees. (In wet weather, you may want to climb up the embankment before heading for the trees.)
Congrats to ADayinPA for FTF!
