Geocache Description:

The packing house was built in the late 1930s and was used to pack citrus fruit. Since citrus growing was the main branch of Moshav Herut's economy in its early years, five packing houses were built around the village. The idea was that the packing houses would serve for the surrounding orchards so that they would not have to carry the fruit for a distance. This packing house served the orchard block in the southeastern part of the village. The packing houses were built in the uniform style of a concrete structure and a roof made of corrugated tin.
In the years when the packing house operated, citrus fruits were brought here by horse-drawn carts. Here the fruit was sorted, wrapped, and packed in wooden boxes while the workers sat on mats. All the picking and packing work was done by members of the village. From here the fruit was sent to the country's ports for export.
The place is now abandoned, the roof has gone. A sign was posted telling, briefly, its the story
