This is our first hide – we hope you enjoy finding it!
“The Secret Island” is the name we gave this island, where we have had many happy family times. It is an island on the Trout Beck which flows 7 miles (11 km) from near Stony Cove Pike into Windermere at Calgarth. A public bridleway crosses the beck and the island by way of two footbridges. Both bridges and the fords were replaced in 2019, after being damaged by Storm Desmond, with two new wide horse bridges and the river banks reinforced.
Cache contains a log book and space for a few swappables.
