Welcome to Poquoson and the Messick Point Cache Series!
Messick Point is a well-kept secret in the Poquoson community. For the commercial fishermen, it provides safe harbor for their work boats and easy access to their fishing areas. You might also find pet owners walking their dog(s) and enjoying the fresh air, peace and wide-open space of this area. There is plenty of parking close by and while here, check out the Watermen Monument nearby.
At this cache location you’ll find just a little shade during the hot Summer heat. Off in the distance you can see a beached sailboat. No, it’s not the famed USS Minnow, but instead a casualty of a Nor’easter storm common for this area. You’re also right across the street from the marina parking lot. Keep in mind, if you can see the people in the parking lot, they can see you – so stealth is important!!
Cache should be an easy find. Unfortunately, no room for TBs!
