This series of caches was placed to mark the visit made to Bangor by arguably the best band in history - The Beatles. The Fab Four made the journey to what was then Bangor Normal College in late August 1967. John, Paul, George and Ringo attended a seminar on Transcendental Meditation (TM) held by Indian teacher Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. This event is one of many that is commemorated with a plaque on Bangor High Street's Timeline, which traces Bangor history from 3000BC up to the visit of the Olympic torch in 2011.
Each of the caches is named after a Beatles song.
This cache is placed at the start of a path I only recently discovered during the 2021 lockdown. It gets it's name from the close proximity of the hide to the busy Holyhead Road - plenty of cars will pass you when you are here! I would recommend the walk along the path as it is a much more pleasant way to continue into Upper Bangor than walking the pavement along the very busy A5 and this path through the lower end of Menai Woods gives some great views over the Menai Straits to Anglesey. At the end of the path is a dedication plaque explaining that the woods were gifted to the people of Bangor from the nearby Vaynol Estate.
There is no parking very close by, but it is not too far from parking places futher along Holyhead Road.
