Emblème cher au cœur des sédunois, la Tour des Sorciers est l'un des derniers témoins des remparts qui entouraient la ville de Sion à l'époque du Moyen-Âge. La Tour des Sorciers a eu 2 fonctions. Elle est venue s'ajouter au 14ème siècle à la Muraille comme tour de Défense. A partir du 16ème siècle, elle est aménagée en prison. Dès lors, elle va subir quelques transformations, on va y installer des salles de cachots, salle de justice et les oubliettes. La prison a été déplacée au Pénitencier en 1913 puis aux îles en 1998. L'Office du Tourisme propose des visites de la Tour des Sorciers et des anniversaires pour les enfants les mercredis après-midis.
Der Hexenturm, ein Wahrzeichen, das den Einwohnern von Sion am Herzen liegt, ist einer der letzten Zeugen der Stadtmauer, die die Stadt Sion im Mittelalter umgab. Der Turm der Hexer hatte 2 Funktionen. Er wurde im 14. Jahrhundert als Wehrturm an die Mauer angebaut. Ab dem 16. Jahrhundert wurde es in ein Gefängnis umgewandelt. Von da an erfuhr es mehrere Umgestaltungen, Kerkerräume, Gerichtssäle und Verliese wurden dort eingerichtet. Das Gefängnis wurde 1913 in die Strafanstalt verlegt und dann 1998 auf die Inseln. Das Tourismusbüro bietet Besichtigungen des Hexenturms und mittwochnachmittags Kindergeburtstage an.

A local landmark very dear to the hearts of the people of Sion, the Sorcerers ’Tower is the principal remaining vestige of the walls which surrounded the town at the Middle Ages. It was erected as a defense tower in the course of the 14th century and added to the town walls. Since the 16th century it was converted into a prison. Since then, it will undergo some transformations, adding dungeon rooms and a justice room. The prison was moved to the Penitentiary in 1913 and then to the Domaine des Iles in 1998. The Tourist Office offers guided tours of the Sorcerers' Tower and birthdays for children on Wednesday afternoons.
