Through the town of Mazkeret Batya flows the Ekron Stream. It empties into the Sorek River and from there into the Mediterranean Sea.
In 2015 the town council began work on an ecological park and rehabilitation of the stream and its surroundings. The stream is able to flow unhindered due to two bridges built to allow of the expansion of the town. A man-made Lake filled by the sream was built in 2017. It can be seen from the hill near the east entrance to Mazkeret Batya.
It's a nice walk along the stream through the neighborhood with birds chirping and frogs croaking. In that past nutria have been sighted. On the far side of the lake grows a large eucalyptus, perfect grounds for a picnic.
The cache is hidden close to the walking path along the ecological lake.
