Once Upon A Time....
....back in 2002, there was another cache here!
GC4B67 - Prospect Hill Geocache was placed on 04/15/2002 by Socko, a Milwaukee area geocacher who was active from 2001-2005. It was eventually adopted by Trudy & the beast and archived on 10/15/2006. During its' run, it saw 127 finds and only 3 dnfs. It looks like the FTF was jthorson who wrote this in his log:
I got to watch a team of young people restoring one of the buildings as well as geocache. Maybe, someday they'll point to the geocache location as an historic site.
The location of the final for this redux has been changed just a little. However, to keep with commemorating this classic multi, the same solve method is being used! Have fun!
The cache is placed in a town park a little southwest of New Berlin. All of the buildings on this property were built either in the 1800's or early 1900's and are historically significant to this area. The buildings were originally located elsewhere and have been moved to this site. The cache itself is placed nearby. I thought the area was worth exploring, so I placed it here for that reason. The first waypoint is amongst the buildings themselves, and will direct you to the cache. Look for the schoolhouse, find the number three, divide the year date below this number by 100, then subtract it from the north coordinates posted for this cache following the number 42. Add that number to 18.603 and you will have the north coordinates. The West coordinates are W. 88° 09.666
Since it is on city park property, the same hours of operation apply to this as other parks as in open from sunrise to sunset. The terrain is listed as a three but depending on how you attack it, it could be easier.
