Robert Zimmerman was the recipient of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2016. He grew up in Hibbing, Minnesota and graduated from Hibbing High School in 1959. Most people who are not Boston Celtics fans consider him the most distinguished graduate of that august institution. Zimmerman dabbled in music in high school, and his group, the Golden Chords' performance of "Rock and Roll Is Here To Stay" at the high school talent show is remembered for the principal unplugging the microphone because it was too loud.
Zimmerman had a successful career as a singer / songwriter using another name, and has won ten Grammy Awards. He has also won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. In addition to these and other honours, Zimmerman Road may have been named after him.
Or not.
