Nice easy stop from Hwy 395. Take either of the Little Lake Road exits.
* * * NEW LOCATION * * *
Originally constructed in the early 1900’s this site was once, or at times; a train stop, restaurant, bar, motel, post office and gas station. Operations came and went, started and stopped, until a fire shut things down for good. The buildings sat abandoned for many years, and were finally demolished.
If you are a Benchmarker, this cache site is a two-fer. There are two benchmarks here, one at the north entrance (by the cattle guard, can’t miss) the other is a little bit more of a challenge I checked, and I don’t think either one has been logged (both are listed.)
A few words of caution. Be very wary of the Little Lake Ness Monster. It has been known to rise up, reach across the highway, and grab unsuspecting geo-cachers. It looks a lot like Godzilla, only it’s bigger and meaner! What do you think dug the trench? Also watch out for smaller critters, like snakes, scorpions and spiders.
