El Museo Nacional de Historia Natural (MNHN) es una institución del Poder Ejecutivo dependiente de la Dirección Nacional de Cultura (DNC) del Ministerio de Educación y Cultura (MEC). El MNHN desarrolla y mantiene colecciones científicas (biológicas, paleontológicas y geológicas), tanto con fines de investigación como de divulgación.
Pero el edificio en el que se encuentra este museo, tiene una historia detras... siendo un Monumento Histórico Nacional, alojando además en otro de sus pabellones el Espacio de Arte contemporáneo y desarrollandose diversos espacios y actividades conmemoriativas en su predio. Principalmente en el ya clásico "Día del Patrimonio", pero además como un "Sitio de Memoria".

The National Museum of Natural History (MNHN) is an institution of the Executive Branch under the National Directorate of Culture (DNC) of the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC). The MNHN develops and maintains scientific collections (biological, paleontological and geological), for both research and dissemination purposes.
But the building in which this museum is located has a history behind it ... being a National Historic Monument, also housing the Espacio de Arte contemporáneo in another of its pavilions and developing various spaces and commemorative activities on its premises. Mainly in the now classic "Heritage Day", but also as a "Sitio de Memoria".
