We were surprised that there were no caches on the 5.2 mile East Indio Badlands loop so we added this cache.
The loop goes though the East Indio Hills Badlands and crosses the San Andreas fault exposing twisted and tortured rocks that have been uplifted and moved over millions of years. The trail enters several narrow slot canyons before climbing to a ridge with panoramic views of the Coachella Valley.
This is desert terrain so bring water, suitable footwear and walking sticks - we encountered a rattlesnake on the trail so be mindful where you put your hands and feet.
The cache is a few feet off the marked trail.
