Steep hike up side-widing gravel trails with some steep drop offs
along parts of the trail.
This treasure trove is sitting at the heart of a beautiful Ozark
scene. The trail leads you to an overlook of a century-old mill.
Alley was home, farm, and school for people who lived there a
century ago. It was one of Missouri's first resorts, known as
Crystal Spring Town Site. Archeological confirmation suggests that
Native Americans camped throughout this area, with it's natural
abundance of fresh water and game, there is evidence that it was
used as a camp some ten thousand years ago! There are 2 parking
areas for this cache hunt: East is N37 09.227 W091 26.561 and the
West is N37 09.050 W091 26.423 Which ever you chose you will take
the Overlook Trail...from the East parking area you can pick-up the
trail behind the mill and from the West you can pick it up about 30
yards or so down the locals only road along side the river, just
take those stairs on your left. That locals only road is a great
road if you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle, don't try it without a 4
wheel drive. After you find the treasure continue on the trail when
you reach the end of the trail pick up the Spring Branch Trail and
it will take you to your vehicle. This trail is especially way
cool!:) You will find yourself between the stream and the mountain
which is honeycombed with dozens of caves for the young and old to
explore. Great fun for the kids! The cache is approximately 150'
off trail in a small ammo can stocked full of goodies. Good
Hunting!!!!
