Once upon a time I kept a box filled with birthday cards, and get well cards, and even some just thinking about you cards. I actually used a pen to write messages inside, sign my name, place the card into an envelope, address it to someone, and after putting a stamp in the upper right corner it went into a mail box. Then I would sit around watching for the mailman, or woman, to stop by and see the little flag was up, a signal that I had outgoing mail. A few days later the card was in the hands of whoever I was thinking of. Now days we do it all in seconds on line. Sadly, the handwritten mail has gone the way of the rotary dial phone. There are a few holdouts like me but one day kids will be watching an old movie with their grandparents and the scene where the young girl waits by the mailbox for a letter from her sweetheart will confuse them. Mail, or "snail mail" as we already call it, will be as foreign to them as a party line.
I came across this container in a thrift store and just knew I had to use it for this kind of cache. Please leave stamp with the cache. Hope it makes you smile.
