UPDATE...ON May 14th 2026, the 25th Anniversary of the 4th oldest cache in Alaska, the container was switched out to a micro as required by the new ASP CSP permit requirements. Looking for a micro in a remote location is not ideal and can lead to damage to the environment where a regular size container would not. So several spoiler photos have been added to the cache page and the log of May 14th, 2026 to help make the find easier. This cache is about the journey, location and its age. Not the hide itself. Maybe one day I'll be taking the ammo can container back to GZ but for now this is what is required.
A 30 minute drive from downtown Anchorage, and a one hour hike if your a fast hiker, otherwise, plan on a two hour hike. (plus one hour down) It is a 1.4 mile hike, and a 1,000 foot elevation gain from your car. (net) Enjoy the view! Bear repellent recomended.
