When I first started caching the puzzles were much different than they are now. This is an "old school" puzzle for your enjoyment. Solve the puzzle and go get the cache. That's it.
The actual hide is pretty straight forward. The cache is a small cammoed cylinder in a tree. It is pretty typical and shouldn't be too hard to find. HOWEVER, it is not easy to get a good set of coordinates out there, so you may have to expand your search a little. That's part of the fun, and I considered that when I set the difficulty level. The difficulty is a combination of the puzzle and the hide. There is a hint that should help with the hide. The terrain rating is probably going to be much higher if there is snow. Even if there is not any snow you will probably encounter wet and muddy areas.
