Geocache Description:

There used to be another multi cache near this location. Some of the stops are similar and some are new but we wanted to bring you back here. All of the qustions are new.

Elijah Wadsworth, for whom this town was named, fought in the Revolutionary War and later died in Canfield, Ohio, and was not buried in Woodlawn. There are a few other Revolutionary War veterans buried here. This muli-cache will take you to the final resting place of some of them and to some other interesting monuments. The short tour should not take you very long as all of answers can be found in or near the old section of the cemetery. The ground, as in many old cemeteries, is uneven so please watch your step.  Caching only from dawn to dusk and please do not go onto private property during your search. Be respectful of your surroundings, the cache is not placed on any graves. Please do not post any logs or pictures containing spoilers to any of the stages. Bring your own pen and no room for trades.

The coordinates for the final stage for this multi-cache are:   N41 0A.BCD W081 44.EFG.

Stage 1: The cache coordinates take you to the Pardee family plot. Colonel Don Pardee received a promotion to Brevet Brigadier General during the Civil War. It is odd that his grave stone does not mention his military service. The large Pardee monument is also at these coordinates. Your first answer is there. A = The last digit of the year that Don Pardee and Julia E. Hard were married.

Stage 2: Walk to N 41 01.551 W 081 44.036 where you will find the graves of Revolutionary War veterans Elisha Hinsdale and James Gifford. The 5 foot granite Hinsdale monument should be easy to find. Directly across the aisle from the Hisdale monument is the broken headstone of James Gifford.  B = The last digit of the year of Elisha Hinsdale's death.

Stage 3: Next, go to N41 01.568 W081 44.040 where you will find a tall obelisk with the name “KIRKUM” on the east side. Philomen Kirkam is buried here. He also fought for the revolution. Above "KIRKUM" there are two words on the obelisk. G = The number of letters in the second word.

Stage 4: Go across the stone path to N41 01.557 W081 44.027. Look for a grave stone with the name SYLVIA. She was a deaf and mute young woman who was the subject of one of the biggest mysteries of ealy Wadsworth.  The mystery was never solved. D = The number of words in the last line on Sylvia's grave stone.

Stage 5: Your next stop is at N41 01.573 W081 44.021. Look for two similar white rectangular headstones. One has a Revolutionary War (1776) medallion and the other has one for the War of 1812. The white stones are quite worn but the first name of Michael is visible on both. They were father ansd son. Their last name is clearly visible on a taller, four-sided gray monument that is the third stone to the left of these two. F = The number of letters in the last name at the base of the tall gray marker.

Stage 6: Walk to N 41° 01.577 W 081° 44.037 where you will find two boulders. This is where you will find your final two answers. The larger boulder has a plaque placed by The Daughters of the American Revolution. C = The number of Revolutionary War veterans listed on the plaque who are not buried at Western Star. The plaque on the other boulder refers to a different war. E = The number of naval artifacts displayed below the plaque.
