Constructed in 1949, Yorath House is significant for its association with with urban development in Edmonton's post WW2 period. The building serves as a symbol of the changing uses of the river valley from mining & commercial stakeholds, to residential subdivsions, and finally to public parks. It is one of the few reamining houses located on the river flats outside of a mature neighborhood.
The building was designated a Municipal Historic Resource in 2016.
