This cache is located on public land within Rochester's Silver Lake Park. GZ allows for a nice isolated place to unwind, plus who doesn't love an urban island cache? Requires swimming/boat or a walk across the ice in winter.
This island used to be only accessible by boat, even in the winter. The now-repurposed coal plant used Silver Lake as cooling which kept the water from freezing all year round...and inevitably attracted the geese we all know and love. Nowadays walking across the ice in the winter is a viable option as the lake only reaches 10 feet at its deepest point.
Not particularly winter-friendly but easily winter possible. FTF gets $1. Have fun and be safe.
