Onchan Village Hall is one of eleven buildings in the Isle of Man known to have been designed by Baillie Scott. The Scottish architect and designer had moved to the Isle of Man, and won the commission for the building through a design competition held by Onchan Commissioners. The building was constructed in 1897-8 and is still in regular use today.

D: How many hearts are there in the windows at the rear (east side) of the building?
Baillie Scott spent 12 years living on the island and studied at the Isle of Man School of Art where he became friends with Archibald Knox.
From the hall, cross the main road (via the pelican crossing please) to the Onchan War Memorial garden at the waypoint co-ordinates.
The memorial has undergone several transformations, moving to its current site in 1982. There is a tall pillar bearing the names of those who died in the 1914-18 war, designed by the aforementioned Archibald Knox.
A: How many large engraved tablets lean against the base of the tall pillar?
There is also a low wall which bears an inscription running along the top, starting behind the pillar, under a weeping wych elm tree. Take the steps to the right of the garden to access this.
B: Add together the number of letters in the 3rd and 4th words.
As you follow the words along the top of the wall, you will descend some steps at the side of Elm Tree House.
C: How many words are inscribed in the last engraved stone topping the wall as you go down the steps?
