As the oldest Italian bakery in Southeast Texas, Rao’s has been a staple of the community since 1941, growing into five locations around the area. They're known for having cinnamon rolls bigger than your head, kolaches, a local delicacy, which are made with local Zummo’s sausage in a doughy pastry shell, and providing most of the city with it's much needed caffeine fix. Come Mardi Gras season, they’re also the King Cake headquarters of Southeast Texas, shipping out over 40,000 nationwide.
