This cache may or may not be at the published location.
I planted the first Alphabet Cache 12 years ago (was published 0n 1/4/09). I was considering archiving the series but decided to put out another one instead. As with the first one, there will be 4 or 5 caches in a given location, will require a hike of at least 1 mile (no more than 2) to find all the caches, and at least 1 of the caches (sometimes maybe more) will be a Mystery cache. Each cache will contain a number, which is used to calculate the coordinates of the Mystery cache and the grand final (Total Alphabet – Redux). Remember to record the number.
This series contains five caches: E, F, G, H, and I. Suggested parking is at the River Hill Pool (N39 11.779 W076 55.350). This second set of Alphabet Caches Redux can be accessed from a pathway that parallels Great Start. Caches F, H, and I are located just off Columbia paths, E is located at the River Hill pool, but G requires a 500ft bushwhack (C0 bushwhacked in via underground pipeline – look for sign before the bridge). This set of five is different in that all five are Mystery caches. Each cache is either at the published coordinates or found by a simple formula involving the numbers in the other caches in this set of five.
The Alphabet G is a medium size pill bottle, approximately 2.5x2.0 inches. Alphabet-G Redux can either be found at the published coordinates or at (N39 12.xxx, W076 55.yyy) where
xxx = 100(F -9) +10(H -2) +E +2
yyy = 100(H-1) + 10(I -5) +E + I
Note: If this cache is at the published coordinates, the geocache checker will say it is incorrected. This is done so that the cacher can’t just put in the published coordinates to identify the true Mystery cache(s).
