Geocache Description:

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE PUBLISHED COORDINATES

Rattlesnakes are part of the family of the pit vipers (subfamily Crotalinae), and are found in two genera - Crotalus and Sistrurus. They exist in 36 species, and are found in the Americas, from southern Canada to central Argentina. They are most well known from their presence in the United States of America, where they fill most of the spots of the most feared snakes in the land. They are found in most states of the USA, with Texas and Arizona having the most species, and South Carolina the highest rattlesnake population - Hawaii, the 50th state, has no native snake population at all.

Although not as venomous as Australian snakes, they can inflict life and limb threatening bites, with large fangs and efficient delivery of large amounts of venom. As with our snakes, prompt treatment of bites prevents the vast majority of deaths.

The cache is a small sized container, but only has room for pencil and logbook. Stay on tracks until your GPS reads about 10-15m, unless you like a lot of bushbashing!
