Anyone who has found our other anniversary caches, would know that there was an 'M' theme with the first 3. After 3 years of other Letters, last year we returned to 'M'..this year..back to 'P' or 2 'P's actually! ...... Australia Day 2021 and we are camping at Pine Point for the long weekend..Well, okay..Glamping then.. We have experienced just about every weather extreme over this weekend. Beautiful cool days with a gentle sea breeze, next day was an insane 42 degrees with seering hot gale force winds, next day was 21 and rain, and thunder, and lightning..Only in Australia! It's our Eighth Anniversary of Geocaching. We found our first cache 'Where is Oz Mega 2014 - Nuriootpa' on 26th January 2013. From then on....well, we were hooked. In our first year we found 643, In our second year we found 920. Our third year had us find 736, not a bad effort considering we didn't cache properly for about 6 months as we were renovating a house, in our fourth year we found 851. Our 5 year was a bit light on with only 461 found and our sixth year saw us do better with a find count of 685 with our seventh year find tally being 580. Last year...Wow..what a year that was. I think most of us would like to forget it. In between lockdowns and when we were allowed out we did manage to find 407. Sadly there were no Mega Events so the shop remained in Nuri but we were extremley grateful for the support we received from the caching community. We did seriously miss catching up with all of our interstate friends though. Lets hope 2021 is a vast improvement.
The cache is completely different to our easy "drive by's" that our other anniversary caches are. For this one you WILL need a special piece of TOTT. If you have the right type it should be easy enough. If you have the more common type, It's going to be a bit more difficult but not impossible. If you have a trained monkey it should be a breeze. **Please Note** You will need to sign the log to claim a find. We will not accept "I could see it but couldn't reach it" Nor will we accept photo's in lieu of signing the physical log. The cache contains a log, one of our pencils, and a couple of items for the first to finds. This is well off the road and has a nice parking area. Please make careful note of where the cache is and replace EXACTLY as found.
