Ned Kelly's Helmet
LETTERBOX #8
Ned Kelly (December 1854 – 11 November 1880) was an Australian bushranger, outlaw, gang leader and convicted police murderer. One of the last bushrangers, and by far the most famous, he is best known for wearing a suit of bulletproof armour during his final shootout with the police. NE Victoria is full of Ned Kelly history and stories, with a range of excellent caches that will suit all types of geocachers.
The Ned Kelly's Helmet GeoArt is located in an area where Ned's family lived for many years and nearby you will find the cemetery where his remains are burried to this day.
Please replace all the caches in the GeoArt well to help maintain them and keep them protected from muggles and the variety of weather events experienced in the region.
HAPPY CACHING :-)
Letterboxing is an outdoor hobby that combines elements of orienteering, art, and puzzle solving. Letterboxers hide small, weatherproof boxes in publicly accessible places (like parks) and distribute clues to finding the box in printed catalogs, on one of several web sites, or by word of mouth. Individual letterboxes contain a notebook and a rubber stamp, preferably hand carved or custom made.
This cache is a letterbox hybrid, so it is not at the posted coordinates. Once you find the cache please DO NOT REMOVE the stamp from inside the cache.
To obtain the first stage of the geocache, solve the puzzle below, and receive further instructions in the checker.
