Ten miles from Round Mountain, a really long narrow town, is this cut-off. It’s a short cut, if you’re going on 71 to 290 from Llano and points north to Austin or San Antonio. Or vice-versa. At this corner there are nice wide shoulders to pull off on and park.
I ran out of gas here a while ago. While waiting for my daughter to bring a gas can I took a walk up the embankments and found this wonderfully hidden place for a geocache. I’m placing it on my way to get a COVID vaccine.
