This is the 3rd in a series of caches hidden in the Abita Creek Flatwoods Preserve. This is a bit further out of a hike for some from the initial entrance. The cache is a small camo'd container (BYOP) with room enough for a log and a couple of small trinkents. It is named after the fact that it is, well a cleaned and repurposed Melatonin bottle, that has found a new home. It is well hidden, so please return back as found if possible. Also, be careful as the area does tend to get wet, and you may have to hop around or find an easier path to access!
Please return back to its original location. If you cannot, please make a note on the log and I will immediately come out to get it back into place. We live just down that road and are going to sort of "Adopt" this area as our own with regard to clean-up and maintenance. So we visit it often.
We have been coming to the Abita Creek Flatwoods Preserve for several years now, and were amazed to find that there was not in fact a "Cache" located here. It is such a beautiful trail with all kinds of smaller wildlife and plants, and it also has a very nice raised platform throughout 50% of the trail.
It is a very picturesque area as well. We have been a few times and seen local photographers performing family pictures, solo photo shoots, and just general wildlife / environment photography.
