Situated on the main road through Stanley Village, this point is also a footpath crossroads, with options to turn one way towards Morley or to head up Dale Road towards Dale Abbey. In either case, you will, initially, be walking along the side of the Stanley Brook, which goes under the road just here.
On the other side of the road is what looks like a pub - it even has a very attractive pub sign. The snag is that it's not a pub at all. It used to be a pub, called The Bridge, but the current sign is far more modern than that.
