This area has seen many changes, in the 1880’s C&E Millar set up timber operation which shipped the timber from this region using a small steamer from Port Harding (Migo Island). By the late 1890’s all the good timber had been taken and this area was then cleared for farming. Mostly dairy farming and vegetables, and later on sheep grazing. In the late 1900’s subdivision began and now there is over 100 houses on “The Hill”.
At this location you will get a good view of Eclipse Island, nearby is Shelley Beach which is renowned for Salmon Fishing, hiking and if weather permitting you can watch the paragliders launching themselves off the ramps.
