Geocache Description:

A series that will not only introduce you to some of the dog parks around the mornington peninsula but we will also be sharing some fun facts and information about a different breed of dog for every cache in the series! Although they are numbered they don't have to be done in order. We have also got our resident expert, Ebony (Gnome5580s geodog!) Who will be giving each dog park a score of 1 to 5 paws depending on how much she approves of this park! 🐶 we hope you enjoy this series as much as Ebony had testing each of these parks out 😉 and on that note here is her opinion of this park:

QUINNS PARK

Although this is technically not an actual off leash park it is still a place that people do bring their dogs for exercise but there are a number of things to keep in mind before you do bring your geodog for a play! This park is also the oval for Tootgarook primary school so you can't bring the geodogs with you during school times or on the one Saturday of the month that the market is on but all other times it's quiet enough to bring them down, just remember there is no fence so you need to make sure you have good control of your dog! The main reason we have used this oval though is because this is the place where the Tootgarook dog obedience club runs twice a week. The club is completely run by volunteers and could be a good way of teaching your little friend a few manners no matter how old they are! So as far as dog parks go this one is probably not really the best one since there are several others very close by that have fencing, seating, etc (see our other caches!) so Ebony only gives this park 2 out of 5 paws.

The dog we have chosen for this cache is becoming a lot more popular in Australia in fact several of Ebonies dog park buddies are:

WHIPPET

The Whippet (also English Whippet or Snap Dog) is a breed of medium size. They are a sighthound breed that originated in England, where they descended from Greyhounds. Whippets today still strongly resemble a smaller Greyhound. Part of the Hound group Whippets have relatively few health problems other than arrythmia. The name is derived from an early 17th-century word, now obsolete, meaning "to move briskly". Whippets are fast and agile and are still used in racing and agility sports but they're also gentle and quiet household pets that are as much at home sleeping on the couch as they are playing fetch in the backyard. They make good family pets and are not prone to barking.

The cache:

You are searching for a micro bison hidden in a usual manner, please be aware that this can be a VERY high muggle area and it might be difficult to be stealthy so be careful when finding this one and please make sure the cache is well hidden again amongst the natural camo! The slightly higher D rating is to reflect the muggle factor. Happy hunting! 🤠

Congrats to Deepsky24 for FTF!!
