Ah yes, Dowses Beach. Beautiful beach, soft sand, and a resident-only gem during the "on-season". The locals know a keeper when they have one.
As with the name, come here to look for mermaids, and hopefully you'll find at least the tale (not tail) of one. Once located, please trade any micro treasure that can fit in the small cache (currently loaded with mermaid themed swag), and sign the log and replace as found. A found piece of seaglass from a walk on the beach would be a lovely addition too, just don't overstuff this slim container so it can remain hidden. Don't fret about muggles too much as they are encouraged to visit this spot also! Enjoy a refreshing swim, go fishing and crabbing, be on the lookout for birds, have a picnic, or dive into a good book- Dowses is perfect for all of that!
This geocache is accessible to all during the off season (after Labor Day and before Memorial Day). It is also accessible during the "on season" with a local Barnstable beach sticker or after the gate attendants leave for the day. The gate attendants leave at 4pm and gate is closed at 9pm during the "on season". This applies for every day of the week during the on season.
There is a small token prize for FTF as well as an unregistered trackable for their use.
