NOTE 7/7/23: Still waiting for a replacement cache, thanks for being patient you guys!
UPDATE: The original hiding place was muggled, so the coordinates are not 100% accurate, but it is very close! I've also added a few more 3-D printed trinkets for the taking. Happy Hunting!
Safety First! This cache is located in a public parking lot. Use caution when approaching and look out for cars!
Happy 100 Years! This geocache was placed as part of the Sarasota County Centennial Celebration.
Sarasota County was incorporated in 1921 and the name comes from the word 'Zarazote', which can be found on maps dating as far back as 1763. Most assumed the word was Spanish in origin, however, historians speculate that the word is from a lost Colombian dialect known as the Chibcha language, and we may never know it's original definition. Sarasota is home to roughly 300,000 people and 10 libraries, including North Port Library.
In celebration of the county centennial, 100 medallions were made with the library's 3-D Printer and can be found in the cache as a keepsake or tradeable.
This is a medium sized cache with a camoflauge label and black lid. Inside you will find a logbook and pencil, along with the cache information and keepsakes. Happy Hunting!
