Geocache Description:

This is the 20th in this power trail

I have been walking the wall for many years, have watched the water level rise and fall, the bird life come and go, the grass grow and die off agin. No matter when I walk it its always beautiful. I love walking at sunrise and watching the sun come up over Mt Stuart.

The total length of the wall is 8.67ks. My trail is around 4.

The dam wall was built in the late 60's and opened in 1971. Upgrades where between 2001-2007 which was when the new gates where fitted. It was never ment to be the towns main water supply.

The dam reached 250% capacity in February 2019 as a result of mass rainfall. The dam gates where opened to allow the water out which resulted in major flooding in the lower areas areas.

Each cache is different and I strongly suggest you carry your TOTT with you.

Whilst there is no need to climb DOWN the rocks as all caches are within 3 ks of the top of the dam wall. I DO not recommend that you attempt this at night with out a very good light sorce as you will need to walk on rocks in some areas.

Unless you have a pushbike you will need to walk the wall to claim the smilies.

It can be broken up by using the way point S019 25.715 E146 44.208 or as the locals call them, the back stairs.

Be mindful of the wildlife and enjoy the views. Please note that your log will be deleated if you do not sign the cache log sheet.

Please report any maintence required.
