Goofy: It turns out that the the river barrow flooded the surroundings every year.
Each year we are wondering if the cache can be retrieved.
This time it appears that the weather in August has been very intense
so that the cache itself, even with cable, has disappeared.
After 12 years of loyal service this cache comes to an end,

Geocache Description:

This cache is placed in the vicinity of the first electric power mill of Ireland along the River Barrow.

On planning a two-week holiday by narrow boat on the River Barrow we prepared a small first-aid box with some Dutch goodies. We placed this cache this very day to celebrate the 30-th anniversary of marriage of Sjaak and Marionne.

On our way to the south, we spotted a nice “Castle” though the trees and decided to plant the cache here on our way back. At that time the “Castle” turned out to be a former power station.
Hydro-electricity was generated from here in 1891, providing Carlow with the distinction of being the first inland town in Ireland or Britain to receive electric power for street lighting.
The mill itself is now desolated but the environment is very nice. Three bridges, handsome mill buildings and a wooded area containing an aquatic triangle rich with wildlife contribute to an idyllic setting. Anglers will find no shortage of quality pike, bream and rudd.

There is a parking place at N 52° 46.916, W 006° 58.000.
