The park is located at the junction of Miaoli City (by Jingguo Road, Outer Ring Road, Miaoli City) and Touwu and Houlong Townships in Miaoli County. The high beach area of the lower reaches of Houlong River is about 200 hectares. In the early days, Houlongxi was often flooded due to typhoons and rainy seasons. Therefore, the Miaoli County Government began to plan to renovate Houlongxi, starting from Xindong Bridge and extending to Yuqing Bridge. After the renovation, Houlongxi has a large area of new land for protection. The precious wetland and wetland creatures in the lower reaches of Houlongxi, Houlongxi Riverside Park was born because of it. The characteristic of Houlongxi Riverside Park, under the eye-catching big red slanting double-tower Xindong Bridge, a large number of cosmos and a variety of gorgeous flowers are planted along the road. The park is planned to have a water park, lawn activity area, riverside ecological area and river bank Observation area, well-planned bicycle trail (starting from Guishan Bridge and ending at Touwu Bridge) is flat and has a wide view and smooth roads along the way
公園位於苗栗市(苗栗市外環道經國路旁)與苗栗縣頭屋、後龍鎮交界處，後龍溪下游河川高灘地，面積約為200公頃。早期後龍溪時常因颱風、雨季而氾濫成災，因此苗栗縣政府著手規劃重新整治後龍溪，從新東大橋開始，一直延伸至玉清大橋，整治後的後龍溪因此多了大片新生地，為保護後龍溪下游的珍貴濕地及濕地生物，後龍溪河濱公園因運而生。後龍溪河濱公園特色, 醒目大紅色的斜張式雙塔新東大橋橋下, 路旁種植大量的波斯菊及多種艷麗之花卉，園區內規劃有親水公園、草坪活動區、河濱生態區和河堤觀景區，規劃完善的腳踏車步道（始於龜山大橋，終於頭屋大橋）地勢平坦視野開闊且沿途路面平整
