Manhan Meadows Sanctuary
Established in 1965, a gift from Harold and Eudora Conant, this forty-acre site is owned and administered by the Southampton Conservation Commission. The Manhan River runs through its entire length and Moose Brook runs through the southeast corner to a point midway through the land where it joins the Manhan River. This area has a variety of soils, shrubs, trees and wildlife, which makes it an excellent site for passive recreation. The Sanctuary is a conservation area offering hiking, fishing, and picnicking. There are ledge outcroppings which provide a site for geological study. Indian artifacts have also been found.
