Turning Two
In baseball, a double play is the act of making two outs during the same continuous play. Double plays are relatively common, as they can occur any time there is at least one baserunner and less than two outs. In baseball slang, making a double play is referred to as "turning two" or a "twin killing." Double plays are also known as "the pitcher's best friend" because they disrupt the offense more than any other play, except for the rare triple play. The 6-4-3 is a type of double play that occurs when the ball is hit to the shortstop (6), then thrown to the second baseman (4) to get the runner out, and then thrown to the first baseman (3) to get the batter out.
