Quashnet River Cache
Congratulations to SeñorAguacate for the first to solve the decoder puzzle and Find the Cache.
Your mission, if you choose to pursue this cache, is to find stage one of this multi-puzzle cache, solve the puzzle (at stage one) and find the final cache. The final cache is large enough to hold swag and travel bugs. The kids will certainly like picking through the cache. Remember to do an equal trade or trade up to keep future kids interested. The FTF this cache may even be rewarded with cash. 😊
Between Martin Road in East Falmouth and Rt 151 there are lots of trails and abandoned wood roads to explore. This cache will take you on a round trip hike from the East Quashnet trail to the West Quashnet trail and back to your car. The walk is about 2.6 miles and will take about one hour to complete.
The Quashnet River meanders through the towns of East Falmouth and Mashpee from Waquoit Bay north to Johns Pond. Before the dams were installed for waterwheels used for mills and later for cranberry bogs, the river was a great habitat for brook trout, herring, alewife, and eels. When the cranberry bogs were abandoned in 1950 and the dams removed, the river has been restored to its natural habitat.
