To reach this cache, you must walk the length of the St Andrews pier.
Every Sunday at noon, students from the University of St Andrews don their red gowns and walk along the pier in one of the university's oldest traditions. The pier walk was introduced to honour the life of former student John Honey, who heroically rescued 5 sailors from a shipwreck in 1800, long before the town had a lifeboat station! The cache itself is on the lower part of the pier, but if you're feeling brave you can climb the ladder at the end and walk back along the top wall of the pier - do as the students do! (exercise caution though - the top wall is narrow, higher than it looks, and can be subject to strong winds)
Bring tweezers!
