This is the Historic Trempealeau Hotel on the banks of the Mississippi River. One of the first buildings in the town, established 1851 by French explorers, it is also one of the few survivors of the great fire of 1888. Beautiful view of the river and historic downtown. Email us a picture of yourself and your GPSR in front of the hotel to log the find.
I've noticed several people having trouble with the coordinates on this one. When I created this cache back in 2002 my cooordinates were:
N44°00.267 W91°26.553
Since then several people have posted corrections, including
N 44° 00.526 W 091° 26.329
and
N 44° 00.276 W 091° 26.329
I will be up there this October 1 and I'll recheck them.
