In 2014 I spotted a dog on TradeMe looking to be rehomed. He had been 'rescued' from a violent, uncaring home and placed in foster care. Unfortunately, he was left home alone most days and took to walking the neighbourhood looking for company. This lead to him being placed in the local dog pound and the ticking clock started counting down. When I discovered him he had only two days left to find a forever home or be given a lethal injection, which most US serial killers don't even receive. Calls were made and a visit was set up. We met, bonded and he was soon living with me. That dogs name is Zeb. He is the most relaxed, loving dog I have ever had. Since then Zeb has shared many geocaching trips with me around the lower North Island, from the south Wairarapa coast to the southern Waikato. Although he has summited Mt Holdsworth more than once over the years, these days Zebs' limit in the Tararuas is somewhere around Rocky Lookout, depending on the day. Recently, while we were exploring out here, I realised a shortage of geocaches had occured with the Skindo trail now archived. This cache is here to address that shortage as well as recognise the partnership of man and dog in so many adventures over the years. Zeb was right here with me when this cache was placed. WOOF!
