Dingestow is a fantastically biodiverse area. Over 3700 species of Animal, Plant & Fungus have been recorded within 2km of the village in the last 30 years. The vast majority of these records have been sent to biodiversity recording schemes and are available on the National Biodiversity Network. This is pretty easy now, with apps like iRecord, but back in the 20th century it involved a lot of writing in notebooks, followed by sending records in the post to experts who compiled them.

This cache is hidden to celebrate the old way of doing biological recording. The challenge is not working out where the cache is hidden, but picking it up and signing the log without anyone spotting you and wondering what you are up to! Stealth is definitely required, as you will be visible from the village shop. You might want to pretend you are posting some of your own biological records...
This cache has also been placed at the start/end of the Dingestow Butterfly series of caches, which celebrate local biodiversity. Most of them are Mystery Caches with natural themes, and the majority are on a loop walk starting from the village. Please park in Dingestow and walk the lanes (which are narrow, with fast vehicles, sorry) and footpaths (which can be rather muddy) as there is no parking alongside the majority of the hides.

Green spots on the map indicate Traditional/Multi/Letterbox Caches. There are several Mystery Caches along the route, but I'm not going to pinpoint them!!
I have written a PDF guide to the Dingestow Butterfly cache Series that might be useful for people working out which puzzles to prioritise. I promise it doesn't contain any Hints though.
