Geocache Description:

Number 98 of the Only Connect series of puzzle caches. It's a mystery so the published coordinates aren't those of the cache. Solve the puzzle to find them and they lead to a magnetic BYOP final. The cache itself can be found at an appropriate final location, where there is room to park close by.

The rest of the series can be found by clicking on this link to the Only Connect bookmark list.

What connects these people? Each of A-E lead to a person's name. However, the final answer I am looking for is not their name. Once you have the connection between them, this will become apparent. The final answer for each of A, B and C is one word and for D & E two words. For C drop any definite article you may have.

A) Born in Venezuela he was a soldier and statesman who led the revolutions against Spanish rule in the 18th Century. Known as The Liberator, he led the revolutions in several South American countries.

B) Born in Italy, one of (if not the most) famous of navigators. His transatlantic voyages paved the way for European exploration and colonisation of the Americas. He was given the title of "Admiral of The Ocean Sea" in 1492.

C) This man was born in Vallodolid in 1527.  During his reign the Spanish Empire attained its greatest power and influence. He was married four times and at one point was the joint sovereign of England and Ireland. He lost the "Invincible Armada" in the attempted invasion of England in 1588.

D) Born in Kent, this man spent much of his life at sea, becoming an apprentice sailor at the age of 10. He captained the Scarborough taking convicts from England to Botany Bay.  Leading a very full life, he also saw action in the American Revolutionary War

E) He was a first-century Jewish leader and religious preacher whose Father was a humble carpenter. He's been depicted in countless ways in art and culture over the centuries, arguably most famously by Leonardo da Vinci.

Please assign the word value of the final answer to each of A - E. Also assign to F the letter count of the final answer which comes first in the alphabet from A-E

Then chuck your numbers into Excel

Y = (A - (D - C)) * F

Z = ((((B +C) * E) - F) / A ) + D

The cache can be found at N 54° 58.Y W 1° 32.Z

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
