Geocache Description:

This cache is dedicated to some of our best friends:

Alton - a beautiful shepherd mix that was adopted by my daughter and her husband.  He was the sweetest boy and was so tolerant of Juniper.  I was lucky enough to keep him company while his Mom & Dad traveled.  We had the best time together, especially on our walks.  He passed away in July of 2016 and is missed so much.

Dazzler - a sweet, little Schnauzer who charmed everyone she met.  She was an AKC agility champion and a therapy dog who worked at the airport.  She was filled with joy and love and playfulness.  She crossed the rainbow bridge in February, 2017 but her energy is ever present.

Juniper - the sweetest, little black and white English Cocker Spaniel.  She too was an AKC agility champion and had the very best personality.  She absolutely loved everyone she met.  She passed away in October of 2019.  She was my sweet, sweet little girl - I think about her every day and miss her so much.

Ruggers - a rescue from Ragom who looked more like a Bernese Mountain Dog than a Golden Retriever.  I was lucky enough to become his friend and walk him in this Park while my friends (his Mom and Dad) were in sunny, warm Florida during the snowy, cold Minnesota winter months.  He passed away in December of 2020 and was a big, lovable boy who is also missed by everyone who knew him.

Then there was Judy, the Black Labrador who came to us after her humans moved from the country to the city and Ringo, her son, who was a beautiful Golden Lab and my 4-H project who did not win any ribbons at the County Fair due to my inability to train him.  Spunky came home in a jacket pocket - a little Rat Terrier who would howl when my brother played the clarinet.  Cooper was my first dog that I adopted/bought after moving away from home.  He was a Saint Bernard who was too big to fit into the tiny bathroom in my first house and who loved to get McDonald hamburgers with my father-in-law on their Sunday drives.  Max was an Australian Shepherd who would "herd" my two year old and ended up on a farm where he really could herd the animals.  Aleesh was a beautiful black and white mixed breed who was flown from Chicago to Minneapolis as a surprise birthday present for my daughter.  Ten year old Toto (yes, he was a Cairn Terrier) came to our home after his humans got a divorce and couldn't find a place for him in their new lives.  I can't forget Sally, a sweet mixed breed dog that grew up with my nephew and nieces and then there was Charlie, a big lab mix, who was very particular about who came into his home, but he loved the visits from Juniper.  Zooey, a sweet Wheaten Terrier who brought so much joy to my niece and was the peace keeper when all the dogs got together!!!

In memory of all of our four legged friends who were so loved and made such a difference in our lives.

Regarding Bredesen Park:  there is a bike trail, a paved walking trail and a "nature" trail all within easy access from the parking lot.  The cache is just off the "nature" trail.  Dogs are allowed on leash and don't forget to bring your poo bags.  Park hours are 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.  (The wading attribute is only applicable during certain seasons when parts of the trail gets flooded.)

Regarding the Cache:  this is my first hide and hopefully will be a fun one.  Suggetions and/or helpful hints would be appreciated.  Please re-hide as found (or better) and please don't add any trinkets.

P.S. - I placed this cache on 2/23/21 and at that time the Nature Trail was snow covered and easy walking.  On 3/4/21 I checked on the cache and found that the Nature Trail is still snow covered, but there are lots of icy patches, some parts are under water and there is a bit of mud.  You have been warned so be careful, have fun and enjoy this beautiful Park.
