Geocache Description:

This collection of caches has nothing to do with the Church Micro series in the UK. Given that the Australian 2016 census indicates that No Religion and Jedi Knight are the fastest increasing classifications of the optional religion question "What is the person's religion?" it is not surprising that there is surfeit of empty churches that have been repurposed.

Brooklyn Park Methodist church was erected by the parishioners themselves based on a design by the architect and minister Rev. T Geddes White.  The stylish brick building has many neat features.  Lockleys Hall was moved and reconstructed behind the building.  A stone entrance hall was added in the 1960's.  The church closed in 1981 after Uniting, or perhaps later in 2002.  The building is currenly owned by Trees For Life.

The location of the nearby geocache can be determined from the numbers on the foundation stone visible from the footpath, AB.CDEF.
