Gumshoes. This is A.C.M.E. You may be wondering where Carmen Sandiego has been. You may also be wondering why we are contacting you through Ms. Sandiego's personal account. We warned Ms. Sandiego with a very colorful message stating that if she did not surrender and cease her thieving ways, we would infiltrate her operation and shut her down. We have accomplished the former. Our intelligence informs us her empire has been crippled since we've taken over her communications. It has forced her to lay low because now any move she makes, we'll have her. Who do we have to thank for this? Why you of course gumshoes. Or "detectives" as she so affectionately calls you. We've had our eyes on you. Watching your every move. For so long we had nothing. That is until some of you made the careless mistake by trying to contact Ms.Sandiego through her direct communication outlets. She was clever enough not to respond to a single message. Not one. But your actions were enough to allow us to hack her system and take control. Now we have set a plan in motion to pinpoint her location and take her down once and for all. In order for it to work we need your help. We are setting forth a decoy cache that will be too much for her to resist. But she won't have anyway of knowing how to get to it. She is however, watching you. If you succeed in cracking our code and finding our cache, not only will that lure her into the open, but it'll prove you are worthy of becoming an A.C.M.E. agent.
