A City of Altamonte Springs nature park/preservation area.
This is one of those parks I kept expecting to see da Begal had placed a cache in. While I feel a virtual cache is taking the easy way out, this is one because I feel the Window on the Lake is the highlight of this park and I don't want you to miss it and there isn't really a good place to put a physical cache there. Plan to spend some time in the park hiking the boardwalks and paths, it is worth it. If you are a fisher folk or just want to take the kids fishing (license required for adults) the fishing area is at N28 38.686 W081 25.383. The park also has a playground and picnic tables and shelters. The lake is a wide spot in the Little Wekiva River, for those of you taking notes this is the same river that the Sabel Begal #3 cache is on, so I guess if you were really hard pressed for something to do you could visit both by canoe, in which case I would expect you can raise the level of difficulty at least a couple of stars. To get credit for this cache -- In the Window on the Lake there is a display, on the top of the display is a cube with four titles for the displays. Email one of the the four titles to me.
For the protection of the park automobiles are only allowed in during the week, on week ends there is a free shuttle run from an offsite parking area, when you get there that will be a giveaway that you are at the right park.
The park is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Jan. 2006 - Odragon thought you should know: "As a note, the last shuttle in is at 4:10 pm even though the park closes at 5:30. Also, they lock up the window area
at 5 pm."
