Welcome to Eastwood Park in Giffnock.

The estate was once the property of the Earls of Eglinton, but bought by Thomas Smith in 1845, and the house was built some time after that. In 1864 the house and estate were acquired by Joseph Wakefield, a partner in Inglis & Wakefield who ran the Busby Printworks. Later, the house became the property was ship-builder David Tod who enlarged it in 1893, adding a bow window and new entrance. Lord Weir, who owned the Weir engineering companies, bought the estate and house in 1914.

The house and estate were acquired by Renfrew County Council in 1968 and the house was opened by Viscount Muirshiel in 1971 following a complete renovation. The estate likely transferred to Eastwood District Council in 1975 through local government reorganisation. The council offices in the park were the headquarters of the District Council. It then transferred to East Renfrewshire Council in 1996 when unitary authorities were created.

Eastwood House now serves as a function and marriage suite. There is further marriage suite in the council offices. Also within the park are St Ninian's High Scool, Eastwood Leisure Centre and Theatre and about 100 allotments.
