Saint Stephen's Cemetery

This cemetery is the oldest Roman Catholic Cemetery in Haldimand County.

There are burials recorded on the tombstones from the 1840's and 1850s and burials are recorded as late as the 1870s in the burial register of Caledonia. Some tombstones were transferred to St. Ann's Walpole, St. Stephen's Cayuga, and St. Patrick's Caledonia. Any tombstone recorded before 1862 in St. Stephen's would have come from St. Rose of Lima as well as burials prior to 1864 for St. Ann's Walpole and 1857 for St. Patrick's Caledonia. Father Fergus' tombstone is the only remaining tombstone of any of the priests that may have been buried at Indiana. In 1873 the Roman Catholic parish of St. Stephen's was established in Cayuga.

Congratulations to Ally&Joe for FTF
